Kade- Trauma & Gender Specialist

Kade Collins, MSW, LCSW (they/them) joined Obsidian Care Collective, PLLC in March, 2023 as an onsite clinical psychotherapist. Kade is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Lic# C017117) in the State of North Carolina and holds both a Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Temple University. Kade has been a trans advocate and educational speaker since the early 2000s. Prior to earning their degrees, Kade's work began with and continues to be informed by their lived experience as a transgender youth who started their transition 25 years ago.

Before working with Obsidian Care Collective, Kade was a psychotherapist at a larger mental health practice as a part of the Gender and Sexual Diversity Program providing individualized care to adolescents and adults including EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety protocol, and Solution-Focused therapy. They also served as Lead Therapist for six years at the only trans-exclusive, in-patient treatment program for substance use and mental health treatment in the United States. Additionally, Kade co-facilitated a support group for trans youth accessing care at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). During this time, Kade developed their unwavering dedication to providing trauma-informed care while utilizing the principles of harm reduction, cultural competency and social justice.

At Obsidian Care Collective, Kade provides individual, couples, and family therapy to adolescents and adults who are seeking support with an intersection of needs. Kade continues to provide stellar trauma therapy, works with neurodivergence including Autism and ADHD, people with addictions, and general mental health care needs. Kade has demonstrated experience in working with queer and trans folks, sex workers, people living with HIV, and individuals seeking support as they explore issues around masculinity.

Kade is currently a member in good standing with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) .

When Kade is not providing clinical services for their clients, they enjoy spending time with loved ones, both humans and animals, being in water and learning from other radicals.
