Kade- Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor

With well over a decade of clinical work, Kade Collins, MSW, LCSW (they/them) joined Obsidian Care Collective, PLLC in March 2023 as a clinical psychotherapist. Kade is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Lic#C017117) in the State of North Carolina and holds both a Bachelor and Master of Social Work from Temple University. Kade has been a health and social justice advocate and educational speaker since the early 2000s.

Before working with Obsidian Care Collective, Kade was a psychotherapist at a nation-wide mental health practice providing specialised care to adolescents and adults including EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Seeking Safety protocol and Solution-Focused therapy. Kade also served as the Lead Therapist for six years at the Morris Home in Philadelphia, a trans-exclusive in-patient treatment program for substance use and mental health treatment. Additionally, Kade has provided cutting edge and targeted support services at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) by co-facilitating a support group for transgender youth. Kade developed an unwavering dedication to providing anti-racist, disability justice and trauma-informed care while utilizing the principles of harm reduction, and social justice.

At Obsidian Care Collective, Kade provides individual, couples, and family therapy to adolescents and adults who are seeking support with an intersection of needs. Kade continues to provide steller trauma therapy and works with neurodivergence including Autism and ADHD, people with addictions, and general mental health care needs. Kade has advanced experience and mastery in working with gender and sexual diversity and individuals and couples navigating attachment work. Kade brings a down-to-earth calm energy to their clinical approach while supporting their clients in the transformative work that takes place in session.

Kade is currently a member in good standing with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and WPATH. Kade also serves as a practicum instructor for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Master in Social Work graduate program.

More recently, Kade has engaged in and completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) in support of offering highly skilled couple’s and relationship therapy.

When not providing clinical services for clients, Kade enjoys developing skills for surviving and thriving outside of collapsing systems, spiritual practice, spending time with loved ones, both human and animals, being in water and learning from being in communities working together on mutual aid efforts.
